Even if Anderson were a good fit in terms of Church/religiosity (which I think I've made clear many times I wish WEREN'T nearly the issue it is), he's just not nearly as attractive a hire as the obvious candidate, Dr. Bob.
Bob knows BYU through & through & he's a proven FB mind, & was a better team exec than Bronco. He was an Asst HC in the truest sense of the word in his final years here -- & he proved VERY successful at it. He's also very well connected in the larger D1 coaches community, & proved he could scout & hire assistants very effectively.
But regardless of BYU's special interests, Bob's coaching resume is very solid for a guy who's never had HC experience. He's certainly a guy who's worthy of the shot that Anderson & Kalani have both failed MISERABLY at.
