One thing that blows my mind is that fans don't seem to take into

account injuries. We have a 4th string QB, pulled off a redshirt and scout team, where he practice other teams offense, not BYU's. He's making his second start, at D-1, after not having played in a game for what, 3 years, and he had a ruff game last week, after a good game. His passes were off, and people want to blame Detmer for that, "He should have coached him up?" When? When he was supposed to be coaching Mangum?, Hoge? I think Crtichlow has tools, but he is a rookie. If anyone has ever played QB, yes I have, real game experience is nothing like practice. It's like taking practice swings at air in golf, and then when you do it for reel with the ball, it's like twenty strings are pulling at that club.

I maintain that if Mangum, or Hoge, had not gotten hurt, we'd be bowling.

Loosing Ula hurt big time. loosing Mounga hurt big time. Loosing Benard hurt big time. Plus all the other not so significant injuries. Add it all up, and our coaches could not overcome it.

I also think that Ty should have started off last year running the spread, and slowly incoprating the pro-stlye into it, not the other way around, which is what he has basically been doing this year. He started off trying to run the pro-style, and now our QB hardly lines up under center. But that is hindsight, and down't mean jack.

by the way, I'm just preparing everyone for what I think the spin will be when no coaching changes are made. You can choose to believe this spin or not.

I believe it.

p.s.  I also think that Ty should have started off last year running the spread, and slowly incorperating the pro-stlye into it, not the other way around, which is what he has basically been doing this year. He started off trying to run the pro-style, and now our QB hardly lines up under center. But that is hindsight, and doesn't mean jack, and doesn't make me smart.
