This is a testament to how good Christian Stewart was not Robert Anae. The one difference with Anae and Detmer was that Anae doesn’t settle for undisciplined play. This is a credit to Anae but his offensive play calling and preparation is not the reason Stewart was successful. Stewart was a 4.0 student accounting major with the best throwing mechanics that we have seen in a long long time. Stewart also played JC ball at snow and absolutely shredded defenses prior to coming back to BYU. Stewart saved BYU and Anae and Anae knew it and actually thanked Stewart for saving his job. Kalani and Detmer aren’t so lucky this year. The lack of discipline is the reason the team is struggling. Kalani is a great guy but he is very young and is learning on the job right now. He will progress into a better coach but he needs to be a better evaluator of talent and be more involved in the team design. Stop playing kids that are big and instead play kids that are smart and disciplined.
