To some degree. That person is Ron McBride. All he thought about was beating BYU each year. McBride's success against BYU paved the way for Meyer, Whitt, and co to come in and further damage BYU. Without McBride, there would be no Meyer or Whitt at Utah most likely.  BYU would have continued to dominate Utah throughout 90s.
