...sort of phased out of his natural position as a DE/OLB hybrid pass rush specialist (ala Paul Kruger) and turned into a 3-4 containment type DE by Bronco his junior/senior years after a breakout sophomore season as a pass rusher. He didn't have the size and strength needed to consistently take on and tie up tackles when going up against teams with big physical OL's (like FSU and TCU). Seems like I remember reading an interview where he expressed some frustration at the role change and how bulking up to play that 3-4 DE that Bronco wanted impaired his speed, etc.
