From what I've heard, Beck is considered a legit up-and-comer. He's got
good experience and a good track record. That said, I also hear that while he's a BYU guy because he's a former player, he's not dying to get back here. He's ambitious and in the ACC right now executing a very successful turnaround. It's the situation coaches like him dream about. He's getting visibility and building credibility. He's not leaving that to come be a QB coach here for less money.

I still think Detmer would be an awesome QB coach. Very different than OC. John Beck might be a very good QBC too.
