I have no first hand knowledge of coaching staff but every run of the mill professor has to have a GA
interview before being hired so I have a hard time seeing why they wouldn't do the same for all coaches. The reason also seems obvious. They will be a respresentative of BYU and by extension the Church. Of course they want to be sure the person understands that position and to have at least some feeling as to how they may take their position as such. It's no guarantee but at least it's an effort. Yes, some do not pass the GA interview.
