The number of realtors making TikTok’s, IG reels, etc. trying to explain why buyers agents are essential to consumers and explaining how commissions have “always” been negotiable is unrivaled.
No one in their right mind is going to pay a buyers agent 3% of the purchase price of a home anymore, and they are finding whatever stretched rationale they can come up with to save their gravy train.
Sellers agents will probably maintain their status quo (though my guess is most people are a combo of sellers and buyers). But buyers agents better prep themselves for flat fees. And those flat fees aren’t going to be $10,000 like a lot of them seem have in their minds.
It’s a beautiful thing to watch. Keep the tears coming.
