became CEO. My last 3 years in GE's Corporate Accounting and Financial Reporting group. During those years, there were 14 distinct business units. Very interesting and very diverse businesses. Very profitable, stocks splitting every one to two years. I had a lot of fun those years. Top 3 most valuable companies were GE, IBM and Exxon. The company really started going downhill after Welsh retired. They sold off most of their core business units. It was a great company it's first 100 years. The last 24 years have not been kind to investors or the company. I fortunately sold all my stock shortly after Welsh retired. Full disclosure, I still get a nice pension check month since turning 60.
