Look, people. Being sad is rational. Most of the rest of this crap is just
not.

1. Pope has to go to Kentucky if they offer. It's one of the top 5 jobs in the country. You would take it, if you were Pope; every single one of us would. Be honest.
2. Being "all in" at BYU when you're here does not mean that when the 2nd or 3rd most successful basketball program in the country wants you, you don't take the job. Pope was all in here. He'll now be all in somewhere else. Those two things are not mutually contradictory.
3. Tom Holmoe was not asleep at the switch. That man has navigated the most difficult AD job on earth for two decades and BYU owes him an arena, or at least a statue. If you think Holmoe wasn't paying attention, you are too stupid to be allowed to comment. Even on CB. He's earned better than that.
4. We're going to get a good coach. BYU is a top-25-ranked program in the best basketball conference in the country. Our home attendance was in the top 10 in the nation. We theoretically bring back all but one major piece from a top-half finish in the Big XII. With UK off the board, BYU becomes arguably the most desirable available coaching job in the nation. Holmoe's not going to be hat-in-hand praying someone will take his call. Believe me, his phone is MELTING right now with people calling HIM, begging for an interview.

All will be (relatively) well. I wish Pope would stay. I like him, and I love what he did for our team. But we're going to be fine. We are not a second-tier WCC team anymore. We have clout and our AD is going to use it. Take that to the bank.
