with and know will be a great coach. They know Pope from his playing days and not so much his coaching days. But coach Pitino and big boosters know Pope for both playing and understand what he’s done and his potential as a coach. Just because he was under the radar for fans doesn’t mean he wasn’t an excellent hire and won’t be a great coach.
