A buddy of mine is in his mid-forties and generally in great shape. He's an avid runner, swimmer, cyclist, triathlete. He went in to donate blood about a year ago, and in preparation they took all his vitals. The younger female nurse checked his heart rate twice, asked if he was feeling ok, then picked up a phone and called the managing doctor. He can hear the entire conversation, as she explains the situation, then asks,

N: So is it ok if he donates today?
D: Does he look cut?
N: (leans back and takes a full look) yes very
D: I'd say it's ok then

He donated and went home feeling very good about himself. 😆
