time I was training for an Ironman 70.3. This time around I was following a plan based on HR as opposed to pace. I was frustrated with the plan because I felt like I was running so slow to keep my HR in the right zone and didn’t know if it was helping at all.

The male nurse hooked me up to the monitors and says “Wow your HR is really good.” I then explain what I’m training for and how I’m training. He goes “No way” and lifts up his pant leg to show an IM tattoo on his calf.

I’ll say this, the male nurse had characteristics that females would find attractive.

As I was waking up from the anesthesia. I guess I told my wife several times about this male nurse and that his comment about my HR “made me feel special”.
