I don't think it's petty to have a sour taste in your mouth
for someone who was beloved. Had the fans had vitriol and hatred for the Popes, I'd get it. But, they were loved in the community of BYU. I don't think it is petty that a person be disappointed that MP left the way he did. It doesn't show any grace, and to me, does drop some of the respect I had for him. THAT is what he loses. Respect from the fans. Not all, obvously, but, like Durrant said on BYUsn, as much as I might love Pope, he's being a jerk. Still love him, but have lost some respect.
