Seems like you created an expectation for Mark Pope to say goodbye as he left BYU. Did you communicate that to him? He didn't say good bye and missed that expectation you have in your head (and many others have that expectation too). Not sure who wrote the book on "saying goodbye to your fan base". Maybe you should send one to Pope. Now you are projecting this singular event on his character. Seems a bit extreme to me.

I'm sure I've missed many un-communicated expectations. I sure hope my character isn't decided by those events.

I don't know Pope personally. I've only seen him from afar. I watched his introductory press conf at UK. Wow! That guy can hold a crowd. I hope he does great things in his new role. He did great things at BYU. I cheered wildly for his success and for the success of the team. I was pleased with how the season went.

I watched KY's introductory press conference. He has a very different style than Pope. I hope both are wildly successful. I also hope I don't create expectations what KY has no idea I hold in my head. Maybe I'll send him an email of those things so he can remember...
