It’s pretty simple and Trevin said it in his interview: potential recruits will
be impressed by seeing their potential coach on TV talking to KD and Booker during playoff games.
Teenagers make emotional, irrational decisions based on lots of variables most notably social credibility.
Suns success can potentially lead to some recruiting wins in the next 4 weeks.
It’s all hiring and recruiting in Apr/May/Jun with no real practices so it can be done remotely.
The tradeoffs of being slammed with two jobs are obvious, but that’s the argument for the upside…cool factor and TV time where BYU gets mentioned every Suns game.

You are correct. But there are a tone of things unique to BYU that make this hire better than the average NBA guy
