Radical prostatectomy two years ago surgically removed most of the problem but left some suspicion. A subsequent PET scan found a small spot in the lymph nodes suggestive of cancer so I had 8 weeks of radiation focused around that spot. Since then, I've had PSA tests every three months and my PSA score has dropped steadily to really, really low.
We'll continue watching, waiting and praying, but generally feel very optimistic.
Oh, and the full recovery from the very invasive surgery and rerouting of the plumbing has been much slower than I imagined. Two years later it's still a minor, but persistent inconvenience. Don't kid yourself that you'll ever be fully back to normal. Still I look at other 65 year olds around me (they all have their own medical issues) and I don't fret too much.
