Two weeks with the Ryobi Self propelled electric mower...
I know many people who have the EGO electric mower, but I be decided to go with the Ryobi. We bought the one with the second battery and it says it will mow about a half acre. We line on a 3rd acre so it would have been enough.

And it is. Side story. For the last 4 years we had two young men in our ward who had built their own lawn mowing business. However they are both on missions now and so we needed to find someone else. They had sort of turned over their business to someone else in the war, but after 3 weeks of begging these people to come out and mow our lawn and since the lawn was quickly turning into a forest, we just decided to go and buy a lawn mower. So with the length of the lawn last week, I had to mow twice. I sent the the height to about halfway and then mowed, then lowered it to what I wanted and mowed it again. Now, of course I was not able to mow the entire lawn with the two batteries, But I was able to pretty much without an interruption because I was able to swap the batteries out and have one charging while the other was in the mower.

This week, I easily was able to mow the lawn and only had to swap the battery once.

Some of the features I like.

The mower has a slot for two batteries, and there is a key that when the first battery runs out you just pull it out flip it the other way and it will start working off at that other battery. So, if both of my batteries are fully charged I can easily mow the lawn without having to stop, except for flipping the key the other direction.

It came with attachments to either bag through the back, having it the grass come out the side, or mulch. Of course though this is standard for most good lawn mowers.

The grass height adjustment is really nice, as it's just a single lever that works all four wheels. In the past, my old mowers I'd have to do either each wheel One at a time, or it would do just the front or just the back adjustments. The lever is really easy to move. This is probably my favorite feature.

The self-propelled mower is really nice, and makes things a lot easier.

Drawbacks

If I keep on top of the mowing each week, it should be no trouble. But if the lawn is too long and I want to mow it down to my desired length, I could see that it might bog down a little bit And I feel like if I had a gas mower with a little bit more horsepower than the electric equivalent, I would be able to power through it a bit easier.

But, today after my double moe last week, the lawn mower had no trouble getting through the lawn or bogging down.

Like I said, we bought the mid-level self-propelled one. I'm well in the middle age and having the self-propelled thing is nice. So it cost a bit more. Also the one that we bought came with a second battery included. The Ryobi batteries are like $100 each. We could have bought the one below it that was like $60 cheaper or something, but it only came with one battery so this seemed like a much better deal.

Just an FYI for those of you that may be looking for a new lawn mower and are considering electric.
