Actually my very first Ego battery was DOA. They did replace it and I haven't
any issues since. You do have a point in gas cost, it's a consideration. I actually also have an Ego snowblower that I was pleasantly surprised by. Just don't think the mowers are quite there yet. I do have a big yard though.

I tried a Ryobi a couple years ago and it sucked. It was a low/mid range one though. Now my gas one is starting to run

My last gas mower was a Honda. It sucked. Didn't last 4 years. The self propelled part stopped working
