Having also lived in California, Colorado, and Arizona… most everything you’ve said is worse in the suburbs of those other states. You would love the amount of time it takes to commute five miles in Arizona’s east valley, and instead of any mountain or lake view you get great views of barren desert hills covered in cacti. Or in Colorado where to afford anything you have to live 30+ miles outside Denver and it takes 20 minutes just to get to a freeway and start the real traffic. California of course the commute is even worse and the congestion anywhere close to a city is a nightmare.
Utahns have it great here even in Eagle Mountain, the complaints about it all sound like they are from individuals who have never lived or worked in another major metro area.
