NE Provo, NE Orem, Lindon, PG, CH are great. Minimal traffic with lots of
surface street options. 800 N, and University can be somewhat busy at times but not bad and lots of alternates. State Street is busy but avoidable for the most part and you want to be east of that. There are stores, restaurants, schools, and parks everywhere.
Rock Canyon, Provo Canyon, Battle Creek Canyon, Grove Creek Canyon, and AF Canyon are all minutes away and spectacular (sorry Eagle Mountain friends). You do have to deal with the high crime in North East Orem.
