Yep, and there needs to be a restructuring of how many years they can play, and
should they even be a student at all. Right now they are all saying they are student athletes, but let's face it. The time requirements to play are a lot.

While I don't like the idea of doing away with the requirement that they be a student, Why not do something different. Not all of them are there to study. Most foolishly believe they can go pro.

You get 6 years to play. Period. No redshirts, no med hardships. Nothing.
Require schools to carry rosters x minimum of freshman recruits.
If in the course of these 6 years, you get injured during a school mandated event, you get something. No need to kick them to the curb if they run down the court and hurt themselves
Salary includes money, and tuition credits for a bs degree that can be used until you die. Non transferable and are void if you leave to play elsewhere. Treat NIL like the pros do. Its up to you and your agent.
But, when you sign for a University, its for x years where you can't negotiate your own transfer unless 1) your coach leaves, 2) prove you were lied to about the job offer, 3????
So Frosh year, you are only required to take a financial management course, and 6 other credit hours.
Give them financial incentives to finish degree in 4 years.

I'm sure there are flaws in this and a lot could be added to it, but basically don't let transfers be a free for all. This doesn't happen in pro sports and since NIL is basically pushing them to be pro, let'd go out and get the salary paid by the correct institution and give some protection to the institution.
