attached. But I would submit that those are qualifications for Godlike power rather than limitations on His power. As compared to us mere mortals He can do all things (except sin because He would never choose to sin).
It is a bad assumption, however, that the trials you mentioned do not have any redeeming value. I categorize trials in five groups that do not limit nor cast doubt on God’s benevolence or power:
1. Trials due to our own poor choices
2. Trials due to the poor choices of others
3. Trials perfectly tailored for our growth
4. Trials caused so others can grow through service
5. Trials that come from living in a fallen world.
I’d be careful about claiming some kind of intellectual superiority over God as evidence He doesn’t exist because you have a better idea of how life should go. There was another who supposedly had a better mouse trap too.
