I’m sure the people who get hit would agree with you.
The reality is that it doesn’t matter how innocent someone is, they’re risking lives. They need to learn that there are serious consequences. Getting slapped with a heavy fine and risking their license is usually a decent way to teach that principle.

For me its the 2-3 cars that continue to make their left turn after the light is red (1 car makes sense)
