I know most Yewt naysayers are looking at this talk as knee jerk reaction to the Yewts moving to the Pac 10 and labeling BYU admin as desperate. The irony is when you read Dick Harmons article about the new broadcasting center being built next to the MC, this is a plan that was being devised years ago, they didn't just decide to up and build a multi-million dollar state of the art facility on a whim because the Yewts were leaving the conference.

It's pretty clear that this option has been in consideration since after the Mtn. began and had such struggles in delivering like the commish had hoped. It may have been a good fit for the schools in the inter-mountain area who have limited scope with their fan bases but for BYU who has a much broader scope to their fan base it wasn't a good fit and has actually cut a large number of their fans out of the equation.

The fact that Holmoe and members of the admin are being so quiet about it is a possible testament to the fact that they have a viable plan in place and are working through to a possible conclusion.
