Fortunately, last year this is an issue

I wonder though, in the next few years, if and when both teams are having successful seasons, will you still think that SoS matters? Or will we return to the refrain of "yeah, but we'd really beat anyone that played us, really." It always has been a lot easier to say you're good rather than actually having to prove it. Looking at both the a) many of the past BYU great seasons, and b) the future ahead in the short run as an independent, (unless something cool happens with the Big 12) one would think that BYU fans would have the opposite approach. Particularly this year, with the two worst teams that Utah has played on the BYU schedule as well.

Looking down on Utah for playing the schedule put in front of them somehow may make you feel better about your team (I suppose), but can you really not see the irony of it?

For what it is worth, I don't think you can read much into the Utah wins themselves, but you cannot (well, obviously you can, but you shouldn't) ignore the way that Utah has played in those wins, or how BYU has played in its losses.
