I said...

I didn't think it meant much, if anything. I was just pointing out that through four weeks, and looking ahead, through SEVEN weeks, Utah will not find out one useful thing about its football team, because it will have played, at that point, the WORST SCHEDULE IN ALL OF FOOTBALL.

So I really look forward to the AFA game, and especially the TCU game, for some sort of read on Utah's team. There are about 90 teams in college football, including a fair number of 1AA schools, that would be 4-0 with Utah's schedule. And yes, Utah looked amazing while beating a team, at home, that has a mighty victory over the Southern Utah Thunderbirds to its credit, but I'm struggling to assign any sort of importance to that.

Has Utah looked good? Yes, they certainly have. Would it be fair to say that unless they were truly awful, they would have looked good with that schedule? Yes, it certainly would.

Has BYU looked good? No. They've looked bad-to-awful. But they could have looked really good and still have lost. At periods of all three losses, BYU looked pretty decent. And they looked good enough to be 4-0 had they played a schedule that has nobody on it with a D1 win.
