I get that, but take a step back for a minute.
Every single BYU game will be nationally televised this year. Every. Single. Game. Name me one other team that can say that in the US. I have a good friend who is a Nebraska fan. Last year he had multiple games where he had to go to a "Nebraska-friendly bar" which had some special satellite package to watch at least 3 Nebraska games. One game wasn't on tv anywhere- he listened on an internet radio stream. That's Nebraska- not TCU. It's easy to take BYU's tv scheduling for granted, but it's a HUGE deal.

Second, consider that all BYU games will be rebroadcast on BYUTV. Also amazing. Tell me one other team that does that.

Third, all BYU games (including past games) can be streamed on the BYU app. Amazing.

Fourth, this is the first year BYU has been an independent. Undoubtedly, this is the hardest year to schedule (because it's always difficult to schedule games only one year in advance). They got: Texas, OSU, Central Florida, Utah, TCU and Ole Miss, plus a road trip to Hawaii. Those are games I love and all are fantastic for the fans. That's also a game over half their schedule. Then, they play USU (like normal), SJSU, Idaho State, Idaho and NMSU. Four of those games are crap. We all know it. Those are also the games we will see less and less of. They were filler for a schedule that had to be assembled.

In 2012, BYU has: OSU, Utah, Boise State, Georgia Tech, Notre Dame, and a home game with Hawaii. Again, love all of those. That's half their schedule. They also have Weber State, USU, Idaho, NMSU and SJSU. Again, 4 crap games and USU.

Lots of road games in there, but keep in mind- BYU was desperate to fill games in 2011 and 2012 and everyone knew it.

But in 2013, it starts to change: Texas, BSU, GTech, Notre Dame, Houston, Hawaii, Utah and USU. I love all those games, and Texas, BSU and GTech are all at home. I guarantee the remaining games are not all crap WAC teams. You start seeing Houston replace NMSU, and in 2014 a team like Central Florida and Southern Miss replacing Idaho State and Idaho. The home/away balance starts to even out.

The scheduling will come. It already is. Just look past the first 2 years and see the vision. Even in the first 2 years, I have more games I am genuinely excited about this year than I had last year in the MWC (Utah, TCU- both the same as this year, Washington, FSU and Nevada compared to Ole Miss, OSU and Texas).
