If so, your post may have some legs. My understanding is that Jeff Call tweeted about it just shortly before it happened. My guess- so many people have been asking, and he just happened to ask someone who knew about the 'stop asking us' announcement that was coming out. Rather than speculate, that person told him BYU would discuss it shortly. After prying, the person said- yeah, BYU will make an announcement available to the press. Jeff Call tweets about it, and other press members scramble to find out. A couple get confirmation, and a sampling of what it will say. Cougarboard runs with it. None of the media people really did.

I think this is much more likely than your post. I may be partial against your idea because I hate the show House.
