We had a fly buzzing around the house, and my wife got to it and helped my 4 year old flush it. After watching Mr. Fly descend the whirlpool of death, he said "I wonder if that fly's family will miss him."
I told him that flies don't have families. He decided that there are good-guy flies that do have families and bad-guy flies that don't, and we had just flushed a bad-guy fly (obviously, since it had been annoying us for hours) so he didn't need to worry about a grieving fly family any longer.
As for you Tim, rabbits DO have families, but they are so huge that the parents and siblings have trouble remembering all the names. They probably won't notice anyone is missing from the family table for weeks or months.
