If anyting, he held Jimmer back by starting Ben Murdock over Jimmer in his freshman year. Basically the offense they ran was geared to put the ball dominantly in one guy's hands while the rest of the team watched and waited. Jimmer didn't have to play defense and he was, by his junior year, free to shoot at will. They did the same thing in running the offense through Tyler Haws, Kyle Collinsworth and Eric Mika.
Problem is we got away from team basketball in the process. Guys now are bent on being the next Jimmer and jack up a crappy shot despite their teammate one pass away having a great shot.
