Does anyone nationally care about MWC champions?

Last time I checked most media east of the Rocky Mountains think it's still called the WAC.

You lose two non-conference games and play in the MWC, no one will care about your season.
You literally after to go undefeated not just one year but look at UFC who won't ever be considered for playoff even though they keep knocking off P5 teams.
