Houston and ucf were flashes in the pan— many think that quick football success
Equates to a p5 invite... there is much more to it.
Presidents of schools care, but not a whole lot, about athletic conference affiliation. They want the institutional affiliation. They understand athletics is the bridge.
Houston was only under consideration due to political pressure- the same (politics in general) that kept BYU out.
