If we had started the year with Mc Neese St., Hawaii, and then Arizona in September, it llikely would have made sense to start with Wilson from Day 1. But to start true freshman Wilson at Arizona, Cal, and at Wisconsin really would have been throwing him to the wolves, and we likely go 1-2 at best...with 0-3 a distinct possibility and with a decent chance that Wilson gets injured. 

Remember, in his second start, Wilson couldn't lead the offense to a single touchdown against NIU at home. He has grown and I expect big things from him in 2019; but the coaches made the right call with Mangum agains the September schedule.
