I also think the O-line will be better next year and could become very good eventually. They did look terrible against Cal, UW, and USU though.
I’m really not completely sold on the defense - I think we had talent out there but scheme-wise I worry that it just looked better due to the crappier teams on the back half of the schedule. And the late game collapse against Utah showed how little depth there is on this defensive team.
Overall, however, I agree. As many underclassmen contributors as there were, there is tremendous upside as the freshmen and sophomores gain experience.
Sitake has to win next year so they’d better learn fast.
I’m hopeful BYU wins at least 8 in 2019. That would show an upward trajectory and would make me feel like the course has been corrected.
Any less than eight - not so much.
