My question about your fandom was rhetorical. I know you’re a huge fan. You’re talking about current landscape but you don’t seem to understand that landscape when it comes to reality. You want BYU to play only P5, even lower tier P5? That seems totally unrealistic on my fronts and quiet arrogant to boot. No P5 will consistently schedule BYU outside of September. Especially on the road. November for BYU is brutal. If it wasn’t for the G5 and whatever the NCAA is calling D-1AA now, BYU would play two or three home games a year on average and the season would end mid October.

That’s just from a scheduling perspective. Right now we are struggling with the teams on the schedule. Let’s say Tom Holmoe pulls a rabbit out of the hat and gets BYU a balanced P5 only schedule. Do you think BYU can be handle that? I can’t imagine the fan support and revenue streams doing anything but shrinking with multiple non-winning seasons in a row.
