My brother graduated from uu and is a Y fan. I did some time up there as well.
Many of the uu fans that I know didn't go to school there. The younger ones like uu because of the their recent success in football (especially against BYU) and the older and more obnoxious ones are more anti-BYU than pro-uu.
My close friends that are uu fans graduated from there and have never been anti-Y. Many started at BYU and then finished at uu.
