We got a new tree this year
our 12-year-old tree was starting to shed as much as a real tree. And the pre-lit tree was no longer lit, so I still had to string up the lights. Should have bought a new one three years ago.

We did real trees for quite awhile but I finally had enough. Pre-lit artificial and I'm not going back.
