I was watching an 8 year old practice last fall while at the park, my son is 7
so I was curious. Half the team was Poly, have the team was white. The Polys were 2-3 times the size of the white kids. They were doing some kind of drill where you hit each other off the line of scrimmage. I saw a little dude get blown up by a Poly 3 times his size and he didn't get up for maybe 10 minutes. Parents were called to come get him. I think you are generally right about kids getting injured less in elementary school, but when you get size disadvantages like I'm accustomed to seeing here in SLC with the Poly kids it gets a tad more dangerous. My nephew about 12 years ago got his first concussion at 10 years old on a punt return, got blown up by a Poly kid 3 times his size. I really wish they would make some weight rules in youth football.
