I'd you said next Monday everyone would assume it's 6 days from now. Because that's in the next week.
If you said next Wednesday on this coming Friday, most would assume the 20th.
If I talk about BYU's next game, do I mean 1/14 vs St Mary's or do I mean 1/16 vs San Francisco?

Depends on when he said it. If he said it last Friday, then it’s this week. If he said it today, then it’s next week.
