son Tony's elementary school Jr Jazz team. Coach came fairly often considering his busy schedule. He came often enough that he knew most of the kids by name. I was the worst on the team...the runt of the team for sure. I was the size of a 5 year old despite being nine or ten. Scoring was a rarity for 9 year old me...
Fast forward 5 years or so. I failed to mention the Ingle's were also in our stake. On this particular Saturday we were playing against their ward. Coach Ingle was in the crowd to root on his kids (at a church ball game!) and I had a fast break against one of his son's. In a rare moment I made a move and scored on his son. Coach ingle giggled with glee and shouted "Way to go Mikey!" He remembered how tough it was for me to score back in my days as the runt of the group.
I love the Ingle family and shed a tear or two of my own last night reflecting on my memories.
CougarNation lost a good one.
