I believe it was decided by the Supreme Court in 2012 or 13

I remember hearing that on the news on a few days before I started a new job where I was given a policy manual that said salary was to be kept confidential. I decided it would not be a good way to start by telling my employer the policy wasn't worth the paper it was printed on.
