He was very good at making do with what he had — & building & managing his offenses to maximize the talents of his gifted scorers.
He was next to terrible at going out & searching for kids that could round out his rosters with specific skills or talents, though. It's not that he was utterly blind to the personnel needs required to win at BYU's level of play (obviously), but he too often took what fell in his lap. (And got pretty lucky often times, I'll admit. Probably for living right.)
