to land a solid PG transfer from UA his first year — AS WELL AS — do what everyone thought was impossible at the time — & bring Yoeli back!
Considering the recruiting attention Toolson was getting at the time --& Toolson's disappointing history at BYU-- his bringing him over was hardly a given in his first year, either.
THEN he coulda also easily have mailed this year in as a rebuilding year, too. Except he instead decided to hit the recruiting trail & the transfer portal & built himself a new & remarkably balanced team.
Mark Pope is the type of coach that doesn't accept the fate of the "rebuilding year." I don't think he excepts many excuses or kick-backs in life, period.
