Do you remember when Chelsea won the ECL but finished like 7th in the league?
They were not looked as a top 4 team in the EPL that year by anyone's standards
Still was a disappointment and the coach was still let go...

Personally, I view them as pretty equal accomplishments.

League for sure, and that's how the vast majority outside the US feel.

I'd argue Champions League is the focus for most, clubs put effort into qualification for Champions League...

I don't think Abramovich is the right owner to look at for this. He'd owned the Blues since 2003, 9 years...

I not just referring to the coach firing, but despite winning the ECL, Chelsea

Well, they weren't a top 4 team that particular season. Not sure how they'd be viewed as one.

Exactly my point, despite winning the ECL. And the crux of this thread

They hadn't won the Champions League when Villas-Boas was sacked. That came later and arguably would have kept him there

CL is a focus only to get into the CL at access the $$$$ to do transfer business. Given the choice, most EPL teams would

Minus a handful of teams, winning the league is always #1 priority.

As a City fan, I'd prefer a UCL title since we've been so dominant in EPL lately

Pep hasn't won UCL in a while, but plenty of league titles. He'd for sure put UCL above an EPL title.

Yup. As a Liverpool fan I wish City had been dismantled for their fair play violations. Gutless FIFA.

Depends. For Liverpool winning the league was everything last year

Yes. If I'm a fan and my team wins the EPL but not the CL then winning the EPL was more important. But the team won the

Well, my team is crashing out of the EPL so I'll abstain from voting.. 🙂
