I doubt the P5 would fight it because it doesn't affect them. They wouldn't want to take it to the courts and deal with the issues. They would not want the legal liability for something that is not germane to them. The Bowls would support it because it gives them a chance to take a higher ranked BYU over a lower ranked G5. For example, if the Autoqualifier was #24 and BYU was #15, they would definitely want to take BYU, and this gives them more options to choose from.

The people that would fight it is the MWC, because they would not want BYU joining with a different conference, even if it is just for bowl games and post-season.

And Utah. No way Utah would support this. That is how you know it is something we should try.
