You think LeBron or Michael Jordan could beat the best high school girls in the mile? Maybe if they trained specifically for it, but I’m sure that Mayer could slim down and drop 20-30 seconds off his time if he didn’t have to carry weight needed for the throws.
But look at Warner. His best 110 hurdle and long jump marks would have put him in the finals of this olympics. His 100m is 10.1, so he could likely break 10 if he had commutes to this.
It seems like your issue is more with the duration of the event and the lack of drama and excitement (which I agree with, for the record).
