and Club Volleyball in SoCal.
The equipment for Softball was obviously the most expensive. We paid $150-200/month in dues (OC Batbusters had to be all Mizuno) and about $50/ half hour for hitting lessons. The coaches were all volunteers, and it was usually free to park/enter the fields. That is, unless you are playing at Big League Dreams or a USA Preps Tourney in Palmdale.
German Soccer was fun. One daughter played for a local Bitburg team, as well as, on base. I don't remember it costing all that much. It was 11 years ago, so I could be wrong.
Club volleyball felt like the most expensive sport. Dues were $150/month, and they nickel and dime you from there. Then every time you went to a tournament it was $25 to park and $10/person to get in...each day. The coaches took a salary, and wanted the girls to have a new uni for each tournament.
Oh, and volleyball moms are much more obnoxious with their cheering than softball moms are (maybe it's just the echo of being inside). Softball dads get the obnoxious nod over volleyball dads because they think they know more than the coach does because they played HS baseball.
