Agreed. I think Americans are used to each play being spelled out for them like
in football. The players line up and an observer can anticipate the outcome.

Contrast this to soccer where it is dynamic, doesn't pause, and the tactics are constantly changing real-time. For anyone not familiar with it, they get lost, lose interest, and default to saying, "it's boring."
