I am pro teacher as well. I think unions and admin are holding teachers back

from being effective. In Arizona we drove our kids to a charter school instead of the school around the corner. The charter paid similar to what teachers would get paid in public schools, but the education was well ahead of the local school because of the expectations involved and the commitment to enforcing rules, discipline, etc..
